19. Knight in Shinning suit: Part 1

Knight in Shinning suit is a book written by Jerilee Kaye. I found this book on Wattpad, an app where you can write and read books. When I read this book I immediately fell in love with everything about this book. I have read a couple of books in the romance category but never found a book that made me feel so intense about the love story she has narrated. I always thought this book deserves to be published and it finally was published on 8 February 2014. My best friend got her hands on this book and I had to steal it from her. The book has 38 chapters and about 388 pages. The story is about a woman named Astrid who gets her heartbroken and how she manages to heal her self and find her Knight in Shinning suit. The book showcases sometimes, getting over pain and betrayal means Getting Up, Getting Even and Getting a Better Man! Astrid was engaged to her first love Bryan and had planned out her perfect wedding. That is when happy Astrid finds out that her fiance, Bryan, is cheating on her with her cousin-slash-best-friend-slash-maid-of-honor, Geena a surprise visit to Bryan’s office. To make matters even worse he gets Geena pregnant. Struggling to keep up with her heartbreak she ends up losing her job as well, which she was very passionate about. And just when Astrid thought it couldn’t get any worse, she received a wedding invitation telling her that her Fairy Tale wedding will happen exactly the way that she wanted it. Except that she is no longer going to be the bride. Astrid’s parents urge her to attend the wedding “like family”, and to put on a brave face, with the help of her friends she planned on the perfect revenge!

18. Taare Zameen Par : Movie Review Part 2

Taare Zameen Par does convey its intended objective because the movie has been beautifully drafted. Also, the movie was able to connect with the audience emotionally. One of the best aspects of the movie was when the teacher tries to explain to Ishaan’s parents that their child is suffering from Dyslexia but the father refused to understand and at that moment Aamir Khan makes them read a book probably of Korean language hence, making the parents realize the reality. Another is when Ishaan hugs his teacher after winning the Art Competition showing his love for his teacher as he helped Ishaan find himself. One of the worst aspects of this movie was when Ishaan’s parents could not understand their kid when he was finding it difficult to understand himself and was rather compared to their smarter kid. The mode of the medium used was a theatre. To reach the mass audience. I agree with this media choice because everyone must see this movie. The targeted audience includes children, teachers, and parents. This movie was liked by everyone because it connects students with teachers and parents and was a family entertainment movie. Yes, I agree with the message because it breaks the stereotypes of neglecting Dyslexic people. It also gives out the message that every person can excel in their field of interest. According to me this movie has brought to light the struggles of a Dyslexic child and has reached a mass audience and successfully delivered its message.
Pros: This movie shows the importance of teachers in a student’s life. It also shows that each individual has his/her own talent/passion.
Cons: Children that are born different are often bullied by others.
This movie also shows that children who are different are often compared with smarter siblings or other kids. Parents also tend to ignore the signs of the problems their kids face by neglecting them. According to me, the movie doesn’t require any kind of improvement, it is made perfectly.

17. World’s Youngest Billionaire

Kylie Jenner is an American celebrity who has starred in her family reality show named ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ and also her reality show named ‘Life of Kylie’. She is the youngest sister among her five celebrity sisters Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, and Kendall Jenner. According to Forbes magazine, she was declared as the world’s youngest self-made billionaire at the age of 21 with the net worth of $1 billion and was also the youngest person to be featured on the list of Celebrity 100 list. In 2018, the New York Post declared her as the most influential person in the fashion industry. She is the sixth most followed person on Instagram with 146 million followers. She became a mother to a daughter in 2018 named Stormi Webster. She is the founder of ‘Kylie Cosmetics’ and ‘Kylie Skin’. In 2019, Forbes declared the estimated value of Kylie Cosmetics to be at $900 million. Kylie’s skin was launched on May 22, 2019. She has also founded the clothing brand Kendall and Kylie along with her sister Kendall Jenner by collaborating with the clothing brand PacSun. Back in 2015, Kylie Jenner launched an anti-bullying campaign #IAmMoreThan on her Instagram where she started posting few posts sharing stories of six victims who overcame their fear and wanted to speak out and help others who are in the same situation. Kylie has also had visited Smile Train’s local program. Kylie’s support of Smile Train was impactful in a short time. In 2016, she launched a special-edition lip kit in collaboration with the charity donating 100 percent of the proceeds from the pale pink lipstick (named “Smile”) to Smile Train. Kylie first launched the lip kit on Smile Day, and then relaunched the kit in January, both times selling out almost instantly. Since beginning her partnership with Smile Train in October 2016, Kylie has donated almost half a million dollars to provide new smiles to over 1,800 children born with clefts. Recently on the Ellen DeGeneres show, Kylie surprised a women’s empowerment organization called Nest of Love with a total of $750,000.

16. Taare Zameen Par : Movie Review Part 1

The movie Taare Zameen Par coveys a beautiful message. What interested me about it was how this movie shows that parents neglect their children and how they ignore the signs of their children having problems, considering them dense which is stereotypical of Indian parents. Ishaan Awasthi (Darsheel Safary) is an eight-year-old whose world is filled with wonders that no one else seems to appreciate and understand whereas, adults are much more interested in things like homework, marks, and discipline. And Ishaan just cannot seem to get anything right in class. When he gets into a lot of trouble than his parents can handle, he is packed off to a boarding school to be disciplined. Things are no different at his new school, and Ishaan seems to struggle with the added trauma of separation from his family. One day a new art teacher bursts onto the scene, Ram Shankar Nikumbh (Aamir Khan), who creates an atmosphere for students with joy and optimism. He breaks all the rules of how things are done by asking them to think, dream and imagine, and all the children respond with enthusiasm, all except Ishaan. Nikumbh soon realizes that Ishaan is very unhappy, and he sets out to discover why. With time, patience and care, he ultimately helps Ishaan find himself. Aamir Khan has produced and directed the movie. Aamir Khan Productions has distributed the movie. I think they made this movie because it shows the importance of parent’s and teacher’s roles in a young child’s life. The intended objective was to show the audience how powerful the role of teachers can cause a deep impact on shaping a child’s life. This movie conveys the message that every child is special and each one has their talent. Children should not be discriminated against based on who has a better IQ. Also, how a teacher’s role can save a child from losing himself.

15. Social Media Explained : Understanding of Chapters

Social Media Explained is a book written by Mark W. Schaefer. I love how Mark starts this book. Fictional books are generally difficult to finish unless the author grabs our attention. That’s exactly how Mark has started this book, by grabbing attention. He talks to us through the introduction of the book asking 90 minutes of our time, telling us that he’ll help us understand social media and to keep the phone, laptop aside. Social Median Explained is divided into four short sections. The first section covers the foundational concepts of how social media everywhere works. Section two covers the five most common questions that are usually asked by your boss. The third part covers a case study that illustrates how the concepts work. And the last part covers a clear view of some important social media platforms. In the first chapter, he talks about the era post-social media where a business would work with the help of print, television, radio until the social media era came into existence. In the second chapter, he talks about the theory of small interactions and how these small interactions bring us together as people and bring us together as loyal customers. In the third chapter, he talks about the three essential elements of the social media mindset which are the Targeted connections, meaningful content and authentic helpfulness. The fourth chapter is about the benefits of the present one can have with the help of social media. In the fifth chapter, Mark talks about content. In the sixth chapter, he gave us reasons as to why we must measure the results of our corporate social media activities. In the seventh chapter, he talks about the other benefits that can be gained like PR, word of mouth advocacy, cost savings, customer service, HR and recruiting, internal process improvement, reputation management, and research and development. In the eighth chapter, he talks about how much one should spend on social media marketing. In the ninth chapter he talks about public criticism, his advice is to just forget about them. In chapter ten he gives us knowledge on how a company should start and answers the basic dilemma every company faces. In chapter eleventh the social sales strategy, tactics and results are explained. And finally, in section three he explains the different primers like blogs, podcasting, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Google+, YouTube, SlideShare, and Photo sites.

14. F.R.I.E.N.D.S: PART 2

I am not even trying to deny the fact that I am an obsessive F.R.I.E.N.D.S fan. A big thanks to my father who introduced the show to me in the first place. I remember the time when I was a kid my father would laugh watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S and I couldn’t just relate. LOL look at me now. F.R.I.E.N.D.S has made me laugh throughout all the episodes, all the seasons but made me cry a river when it ended. A show that has completely satisfied my OCD of reaching expectations. I couldn’t have asked for a better ending, unlike many other shows that have ruined themselves for me merely because of the crummy endings. In F.R.I.E.N.D.S it is hard to pick a favorite character, for me, it changes every season. The actors have portrayed their characters in such a phenomenal way. I’m sorry but I cannot pick a favorite. Phoebe Buffay’s ‘Smelly Cat’, Rachel Green’s fashion style, Monica Geller’s loud pitch, Ross Geller’s ‘Pivot’, Joey Tribbiani’s “Joey doesn’t share fooood!” and “How you doin?” and Chandler Bing’s sarcasm and his excessive use of “Couldn’t be any” has built a different kind of emotional bond which now is considered just being more than fans of the show. This is that one show I binge watch no matter what mood I appear to be in. Whether I am sad, happy, hungry, bored, angry, watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S is what you’ll find me doing. F.R.I.E.N.D.S is what helps me start a conversation with someone I like to connect with. A suggestion for all of you out there too, because who hasn’t watched F.R.I.E.N.D.S or never has heard about it? Never watched F.R.I.E.N.D.S? Maybe the conversation that you build may influence the person to watch the show. End of the day you will build a conversation with the person by talking about F.R.I.E.N.D.S rather than facing the awkwardness after “How are you? and “What do you do?”

13. F.R.I.E.N.D.S: PART 1

F.R.I.E.N.D.S the show that stole everyone’s heart when it aired and continues to steal everyone’s heart in the coming generation. F.R.I.E.N.D.S is a sitcom show created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman starring Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer with the legendary opening theme “I’ll Be There for You” by The Rembrandts. The show was first aired on September 22, 1994, and the finale was on the 6th of May, 2004. The show lasted for ten seasons with a total of 236 episodes. F.R.I.E.N.D.S is associated with Warner Bros Television. This show revolves around six friends, about their daily lives, living in Manhattan, New York City. The season finale was viewed by 52.5 million American viewers, making F.R.I.E.N.D.S the fifth most-watched series finale in television history. In the sitcom, Jennifer Aniston played as Rachel Green, Courteney Cox as Monica Geller, Lisa Kudrow as Phoebe Buffay, Matt LeBlanc as Joey Tribbiani, Matthew Perry as Chandler Bing, David Schwimmer as Ross Geller. Three other important characters were James Michael Tyler, who appeared as Gunther, a barista at Central Perk, Maggie Wheeler as Janice Hosenstein who played the role of Chandler Bing’s on and off girlfriend and Paul Rudd as Mike Hannigan who plays the role of Phoebe Buffay’s husband. This is one of those shows where the jokes never tend to get old. Even though we know the jokes are repetitive it still never fails to get the sound of laughter out of my mouth. Each episode seems like I am watching it for the first time every time I rewatch it. That is the beauty of this show. There is no other show produced that I would even consider watching every episode a hundred times. Hats off to everyone who came together to create this show, the way it is. Wouldn’t change a thing about it.

12. Book Review: Social Media Explained

Published:2014

Social Media Explained is a book written by Mark W. Schaefer who is best selling author of The Tao and Return On Influence where he talks about psychological and sociological factors that make social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter tick. He makes us understand the five foundational strategies of social media marketing and what holds the organizations from gaining success. I love how Mark starts this book. Fictional books are generally difficult to finish unless the author grabs our attention. That’s exactly how Mark has started this book, by grabbing attention. He also makes us understand the importance of giving away to grow. The fourth chapter is about the benefits of the present one can have with the help of social media. In the fifth chapter, Mark talks about content. He dedicated an entire chapter to content because if social media were a living organism, content would be the air that breathes. He gave us three ways to maintain content mindshare.

1. Maintain mindshare through increasingly spectacular content.

2. Maintain mindshare with less pipeline.

3. Infiltrate other content with your message.

In the sixth chapter, he gave us reasons as to why we must measure the results of our corporate social media activities. He says that when some benefits are qualitative and some are quantitative and that’s when we require measurement. But also if we are only focused on quantitative measures like ROI we will miss the boat on many important benefits. He has examples of simple metrics that can indicate rising activity levels and the benefits of these metrics. In the seventh chapter, he talks about the other benefits that can be gained like PR, word of mouth advocacy, cost savings, customer service, HR and recruiting, internal process improvement, reputation management, and research and development. A report from McKinsey Global Institution identified 10 ways in which social technologies can create savings across the value chain. He gave us five reasons to have a social media presence:

1. Search

2. Facebook is the internet

3. Social proof

4. The trade show dilemma

5. Social media is the future of communications.

Shiv Shivakumar is the Group Executive and President of Corporate Strategy & Business Development at Aditya Birla Group. He spoke about building TRUST in an Untrusting world at Praxis. He spoke about trust is the essence of all relationships as every relationship is based on trust. In our workplace, we always tend to do our best work when our boss trusts us. This makes us never want to let our boss down hence, it makes us work hard and put extra effort. Faith, reliable, commitment, responsibility, confidence, assurance, benefits, conviction are all the words we associate with trust. He gave us the answers to why this world untrusting:
• Poor leadership
• Doing the wrong thing
• Rapid change and inability to cope with it
• Fake news
• Greed- pay inequality
• Not bothered about me
• Nothing permanent
• litigation
He mentioned that nowadays there is no contract between two human beings, but contract with only the deals. He spoke about how important perceptions are and how they matter. He questioned us on what do we trust in this world? Which city do women trust to be safe? Which leader will you trust? Which colleague do you trust? The one who keeps secrets rather than the one who blabbers about what you tell him. In our work we tend to trust leaders with AIM, authentic and not arrogant, institution builder not individualistic and motivational not someone malicious. At a brand level, there are only 33% of consumers say they trust the brand they use. Which is a problem as well as an opportunity. -Tell the truth
